momsense

I am getting really excited for our upcoming year of MOPS! Here's a little something that made me smile from the MOPS website, to go with their theme MOMSENSE for next year. Enjoy!

Mothering Game Song (tune of Under the Sea)

Lyrics written by Carrie Alo

We mothers of pre-K children, we have many games to play.
Some don’t even know they play them, but here is a typical day.
When you wake up in the morning, and quiet is all you find.
That’s when you know there’s trouble, you’ve scene it boggle your mind.

Mothering, Mothering. There’s chutes and there’s ladders,
But love’s all that matters, in this game of life.
Some days we just don’t have a clue, when madgabbing with our son who’s two.
He said he’s sorry he spit on her dolly. Mothering.

Somedays it seems like a war zone, the house like a battleship.
A twister went through the playroom, hit my cranium when I tripped.
The two little hungry hippos wish the house was a candy land.
But Mom offers apples to apples, and then some banagrams.

Mothering, Mothering. No need for perfection,
Just love and affection, in this game of life.
We may be tired as an old maid, but our kids they’re not made for trade.
Our memory we may lose, but that’s a risk we choose. Mothering.

Mothering, Mothering. They scrabble here and there,
Til we pull out our hair, in this game of life.
Imaginiff you slept the day away, the munchkins would have a payday.
They’ve got a monopoly on our time, talking on the telephone’s a crime.
This job it is no trivial pursuit, that’s balderdash if you think it’s true.
Wii are numero uno, in our little circle. Mothering.
