Mamas and Kids go on Berry-Picking Adventure in Kingsburg

Our MOPS group went on a little summer adventure picking berries at Jackson Berry Delights farm in Kingsburg. We were hosted by Laurel Jackson, the owner. She loves putting on events for moms and kids. She shared with us about the 14-some varieties of berries and cherries they grow on their farm, in addition to a lot of other produce.

The kids perused the aisles and picked blueberries right off the branches. They filled paper sacks or flats with berries and cherries. Caleb Fenton was a diligent picker!

Of course some of our little ones (and mamas too) had to taste the berries along the way - just to make sure which ones were the best! Even 1-year-old Zayla got in on the action.

Giada and Hailey went to town in the blueberry rows while their mamas dreamed of fruit smoothies, fruit desserts and salads they could make.

Rebecca had fun in the blackberry patch. The trick was finding the sweet ones, not the tart ones and avoiding the heat.

After picking, our group weighed and paid for our fruit. Then we headed over to the lawn area for a picnic under the trees. The kids had a blast riding the Jacksons' tractor toys, and of course, eating berries for dessert!
